The most emotional darkroom opening I've ever experienced – Beyond Darklands

Sunday morning, still quite early. Most of the partygoers were probably still in bed or had only just crawled out of their Saturday night marathon. I was already there, coffee in hand, eagerly awaiting what was to come: the official opening of the darkroom area at Beyond Darklands .
And then it happened – and it was simply spectacular and surprisingly emotional.
Suddenly, this cinematic, emotional music kicks in. Not mindless techno or pulsating bass, but real film music – the kind of epic, battle-inspired soundtrack you hear in big Hollywood movies when the hero finally opens the gate to the final battle. Goosebumps guaranteed.
Accompanying this is a yellow light show , dramatic, almost sacred. And then they appear:
A man with a large bell , ringing it slowly and respectfully.
Two men in golden cloaks , who appear to be high priests or guardians of a secret brotherhood.
They stride majestically before the grand gate. Tension hangs in the air, all eyes are fixed on it. The music swells, the lights dance more intensely – and then the gate moves.
Slowly, almost ceremoniously, it opens. The next area of Beyond Darklands is unlocked. It feels like an initiation , like entering a hidden temple. Not a simple "door opens, go in," but a moment consciously celebrated.
I have to admit: That moved me. In a scene where so much happens quickly, harshly, and functionally, this was suddenly theater , ritual , and emotion all at once. Very well done, very thoughtful – and precisely for that reason unforgettable.
Then, of course, it started as always: the crowd poured in. The most popular spots were immediately besieged – slings , fuck stands , glory hole areas. Whoever got there first had the hardest choice.
But on this Sunday, the atmosphere was completely different. It was noticeably less crowded than on the previous days. The audience was predominantly over 50 , with many regulars wanting to enjoy the finale, and fewer of the young, boisterous crowd. The energy was calmer, more relaxed – almost melancholic.
Unfortunately, only a small part of the darkroom was open. With so few people there, it felt almost too crowded – too much space for too few people. And the very areas that some people travel specifically for (the pee area , the large party area) remained closed. What a shame.
Sunday at such events is often the day of departure . Many are already mentally packing up; the night before was intense, and their bodies are tired. But this very quiet has its own charm.
My tip for anyone who wants a more relaxed shopping experience or to chat with the sales staff: Go on Sunday! The sales staff have significantly more time , offer more in-depth advice, and there are no crowds. You can try on items at your leisure, chat about shopping, and simply take a breather.
Here are a few more visual impressions that roughly convey the mood (of course not real photos from the event, but close to the atmosphere):
